Milly Dowler's family have been offered a multimillion-pound settlement offer by Rupert Murdoch's News International, in an attempt to settle the phone-hacking case that led to closure of the News of the World and the resignation of the company's chief executive, Rebekah Brooks.

For those of you just coming up to speed on the Fall Of The House Of Murdoch (FOTHOM) phone hacking case, Milly Dowler was a cute teenage girl (click link for photo) who was kidnapped and murdered. The Murdoch - owned News of the World hired someone who hacked into Milly's cell phone voice mail and listened to her messages, which obviously included increasingly emotional ones from her family.

And then her mailbox filled up, depriving NotW of a source of titillating headlines. So, to make room for more emotional messages from her family, the unspeakably depraved minions of Murdoch deleted existing messages. Which, of course, made Milly's family believe that she must still be alive, because how else could the messages be deleted? Which, in turn, made the final discovery of her body an unexpected shock, rather than the usual process in a kidnapping where the family gradually comes to terms with the possibility that their loved one is no longer living.

The Brits need to revive the old tradition of drawing and quartering There is no punishment allowed under law which is suitable for people like this.
